Mass, momentum, force. Newton's laws of motion. Work, energy and power. Conservative forces, potential energy, impulsive forces. Rectilinear motion of a particle, uniformly accelerated motion, resisted motion, simple harmonic motion, damped and forced
oscillations, elastic strings and springs. Changing mass problems.
Problems in two and three dimensions, motion under gravity, constrained particle motion, angular momentum. Motion of a particle, angular momentum motion of a particle under a central force. Kinematics of assemblies of particles and of a rigid body.

Assessment is by assignments and examination.
